Hruba Skala is located 100 km to the northeast of Prague
in the natural park of the Czech Paradise. The castle is perched on a sandstone cliff with
spectacular views of the Libunka river valley. The castle is surrounded by
numerous rocky towers and sandstone
labyrinths and provides an ideal venue for such a scientific workshop.
The facility includes a large lecture room and several historic
chambers which are ideal for discussions within smaller working groups.
The site is remote, which represents an added benefit for such a workshop
in terms of keeping the group together. However, there is a bar
within the Castle which insures that fruitful scientific discussions will
continue late into the evening.
Hruba Skala is also an excelent starting point
for walking trips to the rocky labyrinths and to other parts of the Czech Paradise.
