How to get to the conference venue

Visiting by plane

The next airport to Kloster Banz is NUE (Nuremberg airport) with a fair number of Domestic and European connections (for more details, see http://www.airport-nuernberg.de).

The closest international airports are FRA (Frankfurt airport) (www.frankfurt-airport.com) and MUC (Munich airport) (www.munich-airport.de).

It takes about 1.5 hours from NUE,  3~4 hours from FRA, and 3.5 hours from MUC to the venue by train (see below for details).

Visiting by train

The closest train station to Banz Abbey is Bad Staffelstein (5km) or Lichtenfels (8km). Please visit the website of Deutsche Bahn (German Railway) (www.bahn.de) for a time table. From the train station, please take a taxi ( contact of local companies ) to Kloster Banz. Please keep the receipt for reimbursement.

Visiting by car

For your Navi system: Kloster-Banz-Straße | 96231 Bad Staffelstein (GPS-Koordinaten: 50°08'02" N / 11°00'02" O)

  •   From Nuremberg: Take highway A3 till AK Fürth/Erlangen, change to A73 until AS 14 Bad Staffelstein-Kurzentrum, where you find road signs to Kloster Banz。
  •   From Schweinfurt/Würzburg: Take highway A70 till Bamberg, change to A73 till AS 14 Bad Staffelstein-Kurzentrum, , where you find road signs to Kloster Banz
  •  From Erfurt/Suhl: Take highway A73 till AS 12 Lichtenfels-Nord, where you find road signs of  Kloster Banz.
  •  From Berlin: Take A9 till AS 32 Naila, then take country road B173 till Lichtenfels, where you can take A73 till AS 12 Lichtenfels-Nord or AS 14 Bad Staffelstein-Kurzentrum, From the exit of highway, you find road signs to Kloster Banz
