The workshop will take place at the Klækken Hotel near Hønefoss, a town in Buskerud county, Norway, approximately 60 km north of Oslo. The hotel can be easily reached from Oslo and the Gardermoen Airport by bus or train (see below). It takes about 10 minutes to drive to the hotel from central Hønefoss.

Accommodations

Workshop participants will stay in the Klækken Hotel. Participants have the option of staying in a single room or sharing a double room with another person. The rates are 1395 NOK per day (approx. €190 per day) for a single room and 1195 NOK per day (approx. €165 per day) for a double room shared with another participant. The rate includes breakfast, lunch buffet and a three-course dinner at the hotel restaurant. WiFi Internet is available free of charge. Access to the pool, fitness center and free parking are also included. Accommodation costs are paid at the Klaekken hotel during the workshop. After you register for the conference, the organizing committee will make a room reservation for you. If you know someone you would like to share a room with, and if that person does not vehemently oppose the idea of sharing with you, please indicate his/her name on your registration form. If you don't have a preferred roommate but would like to share nevertheless, the organizing committee will choose a roommate for you.

Please note that we can accommodate a total of 120 participants at the hotel, and rooms will be assigned on the first-come, first-served basis. Most likely you will get your preferred accommodation option, but we cannot guarantee that.

 

How to get to Klækken

By direct bus from Gardermoen Airport (recommended)

The easiest way to get to the Klækken Hotel is to take the bus that directly connects the Oslo Gardermoen Airport and the hotel. The bus to Klækken leaves from Platform 35 at the ground level outside the arrivals area. The direction is Hønefoss/Sundvolden and you need to signal the bus to stop at Klækken. The travel time is about 1 hour.

09:30, 13:45 (Saturday)

The departure times from the Klækken Hotel to the Oslo Gardermoen Airport are:
05:25, 08:00, 10:15, 12:10, 14:10, 17:00, 19:10 (Monday-Friday)

By bus or train

1) Take the Airport Express Train (Flytoget) from the Gardermoen Airport to the Oslo Central Train Station (Oslo S). The train leaves approximately every 10 minutes and it takes only 20 minutes to get to Oslo. Alternatively, you can take SAS Airport Bus (SAS Flybussen, departs from Platform B17, see above) to the Oslo Bus Terminal (Bussterminalen); this will take 45-55 minutes. (The bus terminal is located right across the street from the Central Train Station in downtown Oslo.)

2a) From the Oslo Bus Terminal, take a bus that connects Oslo and Hønefoss. See nettbuss.no for departures. The travel time may be anywhere between 1:20 and 2:30.

2b) From the Oslo Central Train Station, take a train to Hønefoss. See nsb.no for departures. The travel time is between 1:30 and 1:45.

3) Take a cab from Hønefoss sentrum to the Klækken Hotel.

By car

From Oslo, take E18 westbound toward Sandvika. Take Exit 16 to merge onto E16 toward Bergen. Continue to follow E16 for about 28 km, then turn right to Hadelandsveien/Rv241. Continue on Hadelandsveien for about 5 km. Klækken will be on the left side of the road. Here are the directions from Google Maps.

 

Conference Fee

Participants of the workshop must pay a conference fee of 1500 NOK (approx. €205) by July 31, 2013. The conference fee is waived for student presenters and invited speakers. Register for the workshop here.

 

Reimbursement of travel expenses

Students presenting at the workshop are eligible for reimbursement of their travel expenses up to 2000 NOK. Please note that due to the limited funds we cannot guarantee the maximum amount for all, but we will do our best to provide travel support for every student presenter.

In order to get reimbursed, you will need to submit a travel claim form accompanied by original receipts for all travel expenditures you claim (tickets, boarding passes, invoices, receipts, etc.) within one month after the end of the conference. After that, it will take us a couple of weeks to process and issue refunds.
